What Do People Really Mean When They Search For A "Denver Architect" And What To Really Look For!

Sketch of a House

When people search for Denver Architect, they rarely need someone licensed and billing out top dollar for banal work.

They are really in need of someone with design expertise. This may range from coming up with their dream home or other design project.

An architect does not mean that they are good at design, look around you, Denver is suffering because there are few professionals that understand good design

Denver Architects Aren’t Designers

Looking at the state of architecture in Denver, it is clear that Denver architects aren’t designers

I’m a holistic designer that works at a range of scales from urban planning to beautiful details. I am not an architect. After getting my Masters of Architecture and working for architecture firms for over a decade, I want to shift away from what the profession has become and focus on designing places to nurture and be enjoyed.

A Designer; A Maker

Most architects have no idea about the what or why of building science. They just copy details and stick to the common knowledgebase. Architect-led projects have become more and more profit-driven design and detailing, this leaves clients with ephemeral houses or buildings.

Land Agency draws from the past and future, harnessing advances in techniques with homage to the craft developed over the centuries. Whether it’s ordering samples of new materials to test out durability or looking for historic practices that just work.

State of Architecture in Denver

There is no cheaper way to build than the construction of luxury-branded developments

Multimillion dollar custom homes have poor wall construction, cheap roofing, and bad floor planning. With the large costs that these homes are obtaining, they should become heirlooms for the family and beneficial to the fabric of the city.

Denver should be leading the charge in building sustainable homes no matter if they are fully to the Passive Standard or leveraging the many advances that are happening in building science. With the amount of sunny days, homes should be able to sip energy without needing many heating and cooling degree days.

Homes designed for the front range should be designed to last using materials that age gracefully instead of those that will cook in Colorado’s UV exposure. Building in the Mountain West provides opportunity for amazing housing, let's build it!
