Award Winning Project for Grinnell College

E Street

E Street was the first project that I saw from measuring the existing Capitol Hill row home to construction. The eclectic owners collected art work and wanted to have a space were they could host. The transformation of the space completely changed the home from an old, dark row home that had fallen into a little disrepair to the current light and airy space that shines through in the photographs. With the use of exposed steel with whitewashed walls, the home was named Salt & Pepper House.

Grinnell College

One of my favorite projects to work on and design major aspects of the project was Grinnell College's Humanities and Social Science Center. Working on everything from the lecture rooms to detailing the roof to have the historic Carnegie Library shine through, it was a major undertaking where my Revit skills were instrumental to pushing the design.

Greenvale Backyard

Greenvale

Greenvale was my introduction to the world of practicing architecture. Having an intern driven architecture studio placed a lot of responsibility on the interns to learn quickly on the spot. The project started out on shaky ground as it popcorned onto my desk from two prior interns who had left for a less intense environment. The project had a few schematic design options but the client had decided to change the entire framework of the project in hopes to make the backyard integrate more into the home. So I took the linear project and restructured it to have a U-shaped floor plan. The project was later renamed to pull on its Spanish influences.
